The partly ruined church of St Andrew in Covehithe, Suffolk.
The partly ruined church of St Andrew in Covehithe, Suffolk. Built between the 14th and 15th century much of the stained glass and carvings were destroyed during the Civil War. The church became too expensive to maintain and in 1672 the roof was removed and a much smaller church was built within it. The coastal cliffs at Covehithe are formed of glacial sands and other deposits and are eroding rapidly (currently at around 4.5 metres a year). (Photo by Stuart Freedman/InPictures via Getty Images)
