A bronze statue of Tivadar Csontv?°ry Kosztka, a piece by Jen?ë Ker?©nyi, was erected in 1979 in the park facing the Csontv?°ry Museum, Pecs, Hungary.Pecs has been chosen as the 2010 European City of Culture.The city is on the southern slopes of the Mecsek Hills and has a sub-Mediterranean climate. Settled by Romans as Sopianae, it was a significant Christian settlement. Later conquered by the Ottomans, it has important Turkish architecture.
